The memorandum of understanding for holding the Folk Music Festival in Kerman was signed

Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini said,” Music is an important part of our national assets in which sense that narrates the truthfulness of courage that has existed for a long time in Iran. At the 13th festival, several local musicians made pieces for General Ghasem Soleimani without ordering”.

“Another point that is less addressed in regional music is the degree of inspiration for new creations by Iranian artists.

We hope that the performances of the regional music festival will be held and recorded in a more professional way that can be used abroad and that the fourteenth period will be a new beginning. Kerman hosts all the music of the regions of the country and this is a great opportunity to invite all Iranians to Kerman” he added.

Ali Zeinivand and Mohammadreza Alizadeh also spoke about the festival programs.
Mohammad Ali Merati, the director of the 14th folk music festival, said “At first, we formed a specialized scientific council, and considering the brilliant record of this province in holding the regional music festival of Iran, we decided to continue this festival in Kerman”.

“The 14th folk music festival will be held non-competitively from October 21 to 29. This year, in order to attract the maximum, we raised the issue of unity in musical multiplicity.

Iran is the only country that has a genetic and organological relationship between ethnic music and its official music, and the choice was made because we traditionally have a culture-building factor in creating nations, which is taking shape in cultural Iran and even geographical Iran” he added.

Director of the 14th folk music festival said that “The festival will be held in two parts: stage performance and research articles, and its call will be published soon. To perform the scene, we set the framework that includes the three axes of tradition, originality, intra-ethnic and inter-ethnic creations”.

At the end of this meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding for holding the folk music festival in 2021 and 2022 in Kerman was signed by the Deputy Minister of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Governor of Kerman.
