Artistic families come to the folk music festival

The directer of the 12th Iranain folk Music Festival says:
The priority in the Calling for this period of the festival is belonged to people who attend the festival for the first time. This year we have also raised the award to 1.5 million tomans.
Sadri explains the details of the 12th Iranian Music Festival in the region:
At each stage of the festival, a group of scholars gather to select the participated artists in the festival; this year the core of the team are Mohammad Reza Darvishi, Maryam Gharehsu and SadeghCheraghi, who may add one or two more. I also think there will be about 170 artists this year.
He continued: This year we have a program for the presence of several artistic families – families whose music has been inherited for several generations – and we are trying to have these several families from different parts of Iran on the festival stage.
We also tried to invite guests from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkey to showcase the cultural unity of this part of Asia;although the presence of these foreign guests does not mean that the festival will be internationalized.
Sadri explained: the most of participants of this year’s festival are from the North and RazaviKhorasan Provinces which attend with Duotar instrument. Lorestan province is in the next important place with significant participants.
Director of The festival stated about the research part of this festival: 6researches are definitely accepted in this period which will be presented and discussed as a workshop for two days.
Researches are divided into two different themes, one is lyrical and the other is conducted in the music changes.
For example, in order to cultural unity the head of the Erzurum Music School in Turkey, attends at one of the festival’s research workshops with an Ashigh.
Another German researcher, who holds a doctorate in ethnomusicology and heads the University Archives in Germany, talks about music changes in one of the festival’s research workshops.

The 12th Iranian folk Music Festival will be held in a national rang and Non-competitive way in Kerman, Iran on November 7-10.
